SpeedMate Blade

The SpeedMate Blade applies labels; it does not print them. It is a full-electric wipe-on applicator for pre-printed labels on moving products: the label is peeled off the liner at the blade and wiped onto the product as it passes — on the top, the bottom or the side, at up to 70 m/min with ±1 mm typical accuracy. With 100 mm labels that is up to 390 labels a minute, rising to 1,400 a minute with 25 mm labels.

Two stepper motors share the work: one manages liner tension, the other drives the rewinder. Keeping the liner under constant, independent control prevents stretching and tearing and keeps dispensing consistent at high speed. The peeling blade is fixed or spring-loaded — the spring-loaded version follows the product where the surface is not flat.

It comes in right- and left-hand versions for 120 mm (4") or 180 mm (6") liner, rewinds up to Ø190 mm, is rated IP 2X and is run from an 800 × 480 touchscreen, with IMA's LinkMate software on a PC for service. No compressed air is required.
