FlexiMate eLinear

The FlexiMate eLinear applies labels with an electro-pneumatic tamp applicator, on products that are moving on a conveyor or standing still. The label is either pressed on by the pad (tamp, with contact) or blown across a short gap (tamp & blow, no contact), on the top, the bottom or the side of the product, at up to 60 cycles per minute and with ±1 mm typical accuracy.

Stroke, speed and acceleration are set in software rather than by mechanical stops. The applicator comes with a nominal stroke of 250, 350, 500 or 800 mm, and the stroke can be fixed, programmable, or variable — read by a proximity sensor or a laser measurement sensor — so the pad meets each product at the right height even when heights change on the same line. A motorised unwinder and rewinder keep the label web under constant tension, which protects print quality and cuts downtime.

The unit is modular: right- or left-hand versions for 4" or 6" liner, tamp pads up to 160 × 220 mm, a liner rewind of up to Ø190 mm, and either a 20 × 2 line LCD control display or an 800 × 480 touchscreen, with IMA's LinkMate software on a PC for service. Ethernet, an M12 encoder/analog connector and an M12 bus extension connector are available as options.
