SpeedMate eLinear

The SpeedMate eLinear is for applications that need controlled movement and repeatable positioning beyond what a wipe-on system gives. An electro-pneumatic linear applicator holds each pre-printed label on a vacuum tamp pad and places it on the top, the bottom or the side of the product — pressed on (tamp) or blown across the last gap without contact (tamp & blow), on moving or stationary products, with ±1 mm typical accuracy and up to 90 cycles a minute.

Speed, acceleration and stroke position are fully controlled. Nominal strokes are 250, 350, 500 and 800 mm, and the stroke can be fixed, programmable, or set for each product by a proximity sensor or a laser measurement sensor, so products of different heights are handled without changeover. Tamp pads go up to 160 × 220 mm or 4" × 8", and optional Quick-Exchange systems speed up a change of label size.

Two motors manage the liner, which feeds at up to 70 m/min and rewinds up to Ø190 mm. Right- and left-hand versions take 120 mm or 180 mm liner; the unit is rated IP 2X and is run from an 800 × 480 touchscreen, with IMA's LinkMate software on a PC for service. Note the naming: the FlexiMate eLinear prints and applies, the SpeedMate eLinear applies only.
